CUMULUS MEDIA Urban AC WDZZ (Z92.7)/FLINT, MI PD AUGUST WALLACE found a way to help her listeners get through the holidays beyond just accepting donations. WDZZ teamed with cluster sister stations Country WFBE (B95) and Top 40 WWCK (CK105.5) for "The Food For Families Giveaway." Their efforts were aided by The Food Bank, The Flint Housing Commission and Catholic Charities.

Michigan Radio:

Ed Burrows who was Michigan Radio's station manager from 1948-1970 passed away yesterday at the age of 94. Burrows was one of the leaders involved in securing federal funding for public radio through the Public Broadcasting Act of 1967.

Michigan Radio and StoryCorps are celebrating the fourth annual National Day of Listening on Friday, November 25, 2011. On the day after Thanksgiving every year, StoryCorps is asking all Americans to start a new holiday tradition: set aside an hour to interview a friend, a loved one, or someone in your community about his or her life.
