97.7 FM Cheboygan signs on as 'Santa 97.7'
WQEZ FM 97.7 Cheboygan has become Michigan's newest radio station, it signed on as "Santa 97.7" yesterday with plans to air a commercial-free all-Christmas music format until after the holiday when it will relaunch with its (yet to be announced) regular format.

FM 91.3 in Tawas area returns to the air
WRQC FM 91.3 East Tawas returned to the airwaves in late October under new owner Baraga Broadcasting with a religious/Catholic format. The station had been off the air under previous owner Northern Christian Broadcasting after briefly operating with a Christian Rock format.
Northern Star Broadcasting sells its remaining Upper Peninsula radio station
Long-silent WIHC FM 97.9 Newberry has been sold by Northern Star Broadcasting to West Central Michigan Media Ministries (WCMMM) $150,000, pending approvals and closing. WIHC essentially became an orphan after Northern Star sold off its U.P. properties to Sovereign Communications, but was prevented from including the station by ownership concentration levels in Sault Ste Marie.
WCMMM operates a Cadillac, MI based religious station.
