Northern Lower Peninsula gets new soft rock station

Recent sign-on WQEZ-FM 97.7 Cheboygan earlier this week revealed its full-time format: soft rock as 'Easy 97.7'. The programming is automated for now, but owner Del Reynolds plans to host morning drive himself and add more local elements as the station matures.

A local radio personality is no longer on the air at 1340 WJRW. Tim Doctor, who hosted a show from 2 - 5 p.m. as of the middle of December wrote this message his Facebook page Thursday afternoon.

The Romantics are old hands when it comes to playing outdoor New Year's Eve concerts in Michigan. Well, maybe not that old: The veteran Detroit-area rockers played their first outdoor New Year's Eve gig in Royal Oak last year.
