• The license for Trinity Broadcasting Network low power TV station W17CS Ch. 17 Marquette was canceled by the FCC.

 

 

 

• Spring Arbor University's Religious WJKN AM 1510 Jackson was granted an extension of its Special Temporary Authority to broadcast with temporary facilities through June 1, 2012 as it works to complete a construction permit that was granted in 2009 to move its broadcast location from near Jackson to near Spring Arbor.

 

• Radio Assist Ministry FM translator W273CC 102.5 Alpena was granted Remain Silent Authority through October 4, 2012 for financial reasons.

 

 

• Recent sign on WQEZ FM 97.7 Cheboygan was granted its license to cover. The station, owned by Del Reynolds, is current airing an all-Christmas format.

 

• No notable activity for December 2 and 5.

 

 

• Bible Broadcasting Network Religious WYBA FM 90.1 Coldwater was granted its license to cover for a power and height increase from 250 watts @ 62 feet (Class A) to 32,000 watts @ 253 feet (Class B) with a directional antenna. The station's broadcast location has changed from near Coldwater in Branch County to between Athens and Battle Creek along M-66 in Calhoun County.

 

 

 

• Kalamazoo Broadcasting Religious WKPR AM Kalamazoo was granted its license to cover to change frequency from 1420 to 1440 and increase daytime power from 1,000 to 2,700 watts. The station is also licensed to operate at night 24 watts. The former WDOW AM 1440 Dowagiac was taken off the air and its license canceled earlier this year.

 

• The FCC reinstated the application for transfer of the construction permit for analog low power TV station WYHD-LP Ch. 5 Escanaba by Confesora Peralta to Hispanic Family Christian Network that was originally filed and dismissed in late 2010.

 

• No notable activity for December 8.

 

 

• The construction permit for Northern Michigan University student station WUPX 91.5 Marquette to increase power from 360 to 1,700 watts was modified to increase height from 413 to 436 feet.

 

 

 

• Pensacola Christian College FM translator W201CM 88.1 Traverse City (Religious WPCS-FM Pensacola, FL) was granted Remain Silent Authority through June 11, 2012. The station will look for a new frequency due to interference concerns with the recent sign on of WTCY FM 88.3 in the area.

 

• No notable activity for December 13.

 

 

• Roy E. Henderson silent WCUZ FM 100.1 Bear Lake was granted a construction permit to change power from 3,000 watts @ 328 feet to 2,050 watts @ 564 feet from a new transmitter/antenna location near the Manistee/Benzie County line.

 

 

 

• Radio Assist Ministry FM translator W248AQ 97.5 Harrison Township (Macomb County) was granted Remain Silent Authority through June 13, 2012 for financial reasons.

 

 

 

• The FCC approved the sale of Northern Star Broadcasting's silent WIHC FM 97.9 Newberry to West Central Michigan Media Ministries. Sale price was $150,000.

 

 

 

WXPZ FM 90.1 Clyde Twp (south of Saugatuck) was granted an extension through June 20, 2012 for Special Temporary Authority to broadcast from a temporary location while station works on the engineering for a new permanent location.

 

• Forum Communications' Rock WZUU FM 92.5 Mattawan was granted a license to cover to change its power/height from 6,000 watts @ 322 feet to 4,700 watts @ 364 feet.

 

 

• The FCC approved the acquisition of silent FM translator W248AQ 97.5 Harrison Twp. (Macomb County) by Radio Power from Radio Assist Ministry. Sale price was $32,000.

 

 

 

• Stone Communications' News/Talk WJNL AM 1210 Kingsley was granted Special Temporary Authority through March 22, 2012 to operate at reduced power due to a technical problem with the station's transmitter.

 

 

 

• Birach Broadcasting Oldies/Country WCXI AM 1160 Fenton was granted a modification to co-locate its nighttime site to the same location the station currently has a daytime CP for. Nighttime power would be reduced to 215 watts from this location.

 

 

 

• Baraga Broadcasting has closed on its purchase of the construction permit for WGZR FM 89.1 Alpena from All Saints School.

 

 

 

• Swick Broadcasting FM translator W225BB 92.9 Battle Creek was granted Remain Silent Authority through June 26, 2012 while it works to relocate its transmitter and antenna.

 

• No notable activity for December 28.

 

 

• Roy E. Henderson's WMTE AM 1340 Manistee was granted Remain Silent Authority through June 27, 2012 while it works to relocate its transmitter and antenna.
