WZZM, the Gannett-owned ABC affiliate in Grand Rapids, Mich. (DMA 42), just completed its annual WZZM 13 Food for Families campaign. During this 12th year of the eight-day drive to help feed hungry families who often times go without during the summer months, WZZM collected  more than 267,000 pounds of food with more continuing to trickle in from Spartan Stores around West Michigan.

Fine Tuning:

  • A couple format changes in the region happened recently when syndicated radio provide Dial Global ended its Classic Hits format earlier this month: Impact Radio's WLKM-FM 95.9 Three Rivers and WBNO-FM 100.9 Bryan OH both switched to a Adult Contemporary formats.
    Both stations still receive programming from Dial Global.with their new sounds; both WLKM-FM and WBNO-FM had soft rock formats prior to switching to Classic Hits.

  • West Michigan radio listeners report that WMPA FM 93.1 Ferrysburg has started testing with simulcasts of sister station Adult Contemporary WGHN-FM 92.1 Grand Haven. Both stations are owned by WGHN, Inc. The frequency for WMPA was won at an FCC auction and received its construction permit in 2011. Rumored final format for WMPA is Country.
