Western Michigan University's Bronco Radio Network will be reaching new audiences this sports season. Midwest Communications' WKZO-FM (96.5), which serves Kalamazoo and Portage, returns this season as the flagship station of the network and WVIC-FM (94.1) also returns as an affiliate station serving Battle Creek, Jackson, Lansing and mid-Michigan.

WXYZ-TV/Detroit to provide free back-to-school immunizations
Scripps ABC affiliate WXYZ-TV Channel 7 and the Detroit Department of Health and Wellness Promotion, along with DTE Energy Foundation will give thousands of Detroit area children a "boost" at the 35th annual "Healthy Living for Kids" immunization fair. The program will be held Sunday, August 26th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. Visit www.wxyz.com for more information.
- WMPA FM 93.1 Ferrysburg started regular operations earlier in the week with a Country format as 'Country 93.1'. The station will carry Muskegon Catholic Central sports and NASCAR races. WMPA is co-owned with WGHN-FM / AM Grand Haven. Afternoons are being hosted locally by John Roberts.
- The Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation (MABF) elected their 2012-2013 Board of Directors and Officers during the Summer Celebration and MAB Annual Meeting August 20 at the MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit.
