Exhibition football or a big race in the Sprint Cup Series? That is the television viewing dilemma for some sports fans in Metro Detroit on Saturday, when the Lions play the Raiders and Rochester Hills driver Brad Keselowski and the rest of the NASCAR crews are racing in Tennessee, three events before the start of the Chase to the Sprint Cup.

- Back on the air: FM 95.3 from near Indian River with a Country format. Now with the calls WWSS, the station ID's as 'Straits Country'. It had previously been on the air earlier this year as WGRL but sent silent for a few months while the station addressed issues with electric power. WWSS is licensed to Tuscarora Township and licensed to David L. Smith.
- Ricky Burns is the new to evenings and the Music Director role at Townsquare Rhythmic Pop WRCL FM 93.7 (Club 93.7) Frankenmuth/Flint. Burns had been a swing-shifter at WDZH FM 98.7 (Amp Radio) Detroit.
- Ty Shesky is the new meteorologist for NBC affiliate WEYI-TV Ch. 25 Flint/Saginaw/Bay City. He arrives from Rockford, IL.
