Grand Rapids Press:

Merry Christmas from The River. If you tuned into WTRV-FM 100.5 this morning, you were greeted with the seasonal sounds of Christmas.

Full story: Christmas music comes to town on Grand Rapids radio for the holiday season (Thu, 11/8)

Fine Tuning:

  • Grand Rapids has not one but two All-Christmas stations as of this morning: Following WTRV's midnight flip, Clear Channel Soft Rock WSRW-FM 105.7 (Star 105.7) made its annual switchover at about 6 a.m.
  •

  • Detroit ABC affiliate WXYZ-TV Ch. 7, along with the Detroit 300 Conservancy, will "Light Up the Season," with the annual holiday tree lighting ceremony, live from the heart of Detroit at Campus Martius Park on Friday, November 16th, 7:30-8 p.m. Hosted by news anchors Carolyn Clifford and Stephen Clark, "Light Up The Season" will feature performances by Detroit vocalist KEM, the Michigan Philharmonic Orchestra Brass Quintet, the Detroit Skating Club, the Arctic Figure Skating Club and the Metropolitan Opera Theatre Children's Chorus, as well as a visit from Santa himself.
