Broadcasting & Cable:
WBKB-TV, the only station licensed by the FCC to Alpena, Mich., will add a third affiliation thanks to digital multicasting. The primary CBS affiliate is already a Fox affiliate on its 11.2 digital channel. Now it is adding ABC programming through a just-announced affiliation deal between ABC and owner Thunder Bay Broadcasting.

WXYZ-TV Ch. 7 Detroit
(The now retired) Don Shane was honored by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association as the 2012 Michigan Sportscaster of the Year. The honor was formally announced today by the NSSA. It's the first time Don has been selected for the award.

- Confirmed: The flip of Blarney Stone Broadcasting's FM 100.3 Grayling from Country to Rock. The flip also includes call sign changes as WGRY-FM is trading places with sister station 101.1 Roscommon which gives up its WQON calls to the relaunched FM 100.3.
