Detroit Free Press:

Detroit City Council President Charles Pugh says he will not run for mayor and plans to return to broadcast television. His decision will end the tenure of the city's first openly gay council member and have a major impact on November's mayoral election, where a poll last fall placed him among the top three contenders.

WADL has "abruptly fired" general manager Matt Uhl, the Detroit independent station announced Friday in a press release. Uhl was fired for violating corporate policy, including "manipulation by a programmer," according to WADL.
