A huge crowd estimated at 110,000 people biked, walked and boated its way to Saginaw's Ojibway Island to see country music headliner Gary Allan perform his chart-toppers at the KCQ Country Music Fest. The event has drawn country music fans to Saginaw for 22 years and surpassed the Saginaw County Police Department's initial expectations of 90,000.
The coolers have been packed, cowboy hats have been bought and the crowds have gathered as the KCQ Free Country Music Fest kicked off on Saginaw's Ojibway Island. Some fans camped out starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, like Saginaw resident Ashley Hummel, 32, who set up chairs for her friends and family next to a willow tree.
