Detroit News / Associated Press:

A museum is planned in Detroit to honor WGPR-TV, one of the first black owned and operated television stations in the U.S. The WGPR-TV Historical Society is set to discuss its plans for the museum during a news event on Friday. The museum will be established within the WGPR studios in Detroit.

LIN Media has announced the retirement of Scott Blumenthal, executive vice president television and the appointment of his successor, Jay Howell ... He was hired by LIN in 1983 as local sales manager for WISH in Indianapolis and was named president and general manager of WOOD and WOTV in Grand Rapids, MI, in 1994.
