A couple years back, Larry Rosin offhandedly mentioned to me that one of the grim realities of an aging radio business is that seemingly every week, you read about another radio professional who has passed away. In thinking back over this past year, there is a lot of truth there.

Many Metro Detroiters remember WDIV-Channel 4 alumnus Mort Crim reporting the news, but recently Crim, 78, became news. Actor/comedian Will Ferrell has stated in interviews that Crim inspired his alter-ego, Ron Burgundy, the eponymous character of 2004's "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy." On Wednesday, "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" opens in theaters here.
