Wonderful News Radio WNFR becomes 90.7 Hope FM on Monday. Brian Smith, program director for the adult contemporary Christian radio station, said the change is a long time coming.

Traverse City Record-Eagle: (pay site)

A broadcasting company with radio stations throughout northern Michigan purchased 12 radio stations in Colorado. A press release from MacDonald Garber Broadcasting said the company acquired the new radio stations under the name Always Mountain Time, LLC.

Detroit Free Press:

Half a season into his gig as a TV analyst, Chris Osgood is having a blast. He was at SAP Center on Thursday morning to gather information to use later in the evening, when he was to provide color during FSD's broadcast of the Detroit Red Wings' game against the San Jose Sharks.

Most of us are happy to enjoy extended periods away from the job, but for the first time in my life, I'm not feeling that same way. After three weeks away from my Detroit News column and WJR radio show, I'm absolutely looking forward to returning to work after what I can only describe as the most bizarre holiday season I've ever encountered.

WSNX-FM morning personality Nicole Hughet said farewell this morning to listeners on the Top 40 radio station in Grand Rapids. Hughet is relocating to Dallas.

Fine Tuning:

  • Andy O'Riley and Dave Kaechle have exited mornings at Townsquare Media/Grand Rapids Classic Hits WFGR-FM 98.7. The duo had been with the station for just over a year - no replacement show has been named.
  •  

  • Detroit NBC affiliate WDIV-TV Ch. 4 will restore it's over-the-air Noon newscast starting on Monday, January 13. The station had dropped the 12 p.m. program in the fall when it launched an 11 a.m. show 'Live in the D'. Now both will air from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
