WXMI-TV FOX 17 Grand Rapids:

This month FOX 17 News begins a special series on something that has the potential of impacting every person in West Michigan. For the past six months, FOX 17 collaborated with staff of community organizations - Merpi Media, Hospice of Michigan, Aquinas College, Catholic Information Center - to discuss ways to best produce a television series that will help inspire and teach families how to have 'The Talk,' a conversation about planning end-of-life decisions.

Fine Tuning:

  • Across the border format change I: Southwestern Ontario's CKUE-FM 100.7 / 95.1 Windsor / Chatham flipped from a Mainstream Rock format to Adult Contemporary as 'Lite FM' on Thursday evening. The station's former format 'The Rock' continues online only at canadasrock.ca, but without personalities Jeff Burrows and Rod Martens who were fired in the switchover.

The Windsor Star's Ted Shaw blogs about the change.
  •

  • Across the border format change II: On the Door Peninsula of Northeastern Wisconsin, Sturgeon Bay's WNLI-FM 88.5 has switched to Educational Media Foundation's Christian Rock "Air 1" network with sister station WPFF-FM 90.5 switching over to EMF's Christian Contemporary "K-Love". The station's had been primarily programmed locally before last week programming changes.

The changeover also includes translators in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The two stations are in the process being acquired by EMF from Bethesda Christian Broadcasting.
