When Mark Pasman thinks back on his 26-plus year run as host of the Motor City Blues Project radio show on WCSX-FM (94.7), his thoughts go immediately to when he hosted live remote broadcasts from the now defunct Memphis Smoke nightclub in Royal Oak.

Ann Arbor News:

Last fall, when the Federal Communications Commission accepted applications for new Low Power FM radio station licenses (for the first time in more than a decade), only one Washtenaw County-based group, called Ann Arbor Community Radio, applied; the bid was successful, and A2CR was among the first new LPFM stations granted approval for a construction permit in January.

Fine Tuning:

  • On the air: A new FM translator for Contemporary Christian Smile FM on 103.9 operating with 10 watts from near Hamlin and Ryan Roads in Shelby Township. The construction permit for W280EL shows the community of license for the translator to be Yates.
