Radio One/Detroit hosting Radiothon to help fire victims
The stations of Radio One in Detroit (Adult Urban WDMK-FM 105.9, News/Talk WCHB AM 1200/FM 99.9, Gospel WPZR-FM 102.7, and Urban WGPR-FM 107.5) have teamed up with St. Vincent de Paul to help the victims of the recent Jason Manor Apartment fire by hosting a Radiothon today to raise funds to help the displaced residents of the destroyed building. WDMK, WCHB and WGPR will be broadcasting live from the Villa store on Telegraph and West Chicago in Redford Township at various times throughout the day with WDMK's broadcasting ending at 10 p.m.

With a different business plan behind the scenes, local sports talk show "Parker and The Man" will return to local radio airwaves weeknights beginning March 24 on WDFN 1130 AM. Hosts Rob Parker and Mark Wilson, who began the show on the station in 1998 before it moved to other stations, will be on from 7 to 10 p.m.

- Gannett ABC affiliate WZZM-TV Ch. 13 Grand Rapids has named Taz Painter as the station's News Director, effective April 14th. Painter will transfer from Gannett sister station WBIR-TV Knoxville, TN and take the role held by Stanton Tang who's departure had previously been announced.
