Detroit Free Press:

Fourteen Detroit charities for housing, nutrition, medical care and more got a nice boost today as $340,000 was spread among them from Mitch Albom's Super All Year Detroit Radiothon. The S.A.Y. Detroit Family Health Clinic received the largest check, $140,000, to support its efforts to provide free medical care to homeless children and their mothers.

Fine Tuning:

  • Controversy brewing for SiriusXM? Not Michigan-related specifically, but creating a stir on social media is this evening's launch of "Billy Joel Radio" on SiriusXM's satellite channel 4, replacing the service's unique Big Band format "40s on 4" through June 25th. It appears subscribers are not pleased with the decision to move the 40s channel on-line only and have taken to SiriusXM's Facebook page to voice their displeasure.

Although prior to the merger of Sirius and XM both services had made several lineup changes, this one seems to have the possibility of upsetting a record number of the merged company's users that feel they have more of a voice as they are part of a sizable group of about 25 million paying customers.
