Informal Flint radio reunion planned for October

Peter C. Cavanaugh, now prominently showcased in Cleveland's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, will be joined by other past and present Flint radio broadcasters in an "Informal Flint Radio Reunion" at The White Horse Tavern, 621 West Court Street in Flint, from 6 till 8 PM on Monday, October 13, 2014.

Mr. Cavanaugh was Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Reams Broadcasting from 1983 through 1992, a period of time which witnessed Flint's WWCK become the highest-rated Rock Station in America. Peter was a top-rated DJ and rock concert promoter at WTAC-AM starting in 1964 -- rising to the rank of President/General Manager before joining Reams and WWCK-FM in 1980. He is a former President of the Flint Area Advertising Federation and was Flint Sales and Marketing Executives' Businessman of the Year in 1982.

Cavanaugh, now a private broadcast consultant and writer for McClatchy Newspapers, lives with his wife, Eileen, in Oakhurst, California at the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park. This "Reunion" at The White Horse marks his first visit back to Flint in five years.

"We're calling this an "informal radio reunion" and that's exactly what's planned", reports Cavanaugh. He continues, " You are enthusiastically invited if you have ever worked for -- or listened to -- any Flint radio station -- ever. All you have to do is show up! "
