When Radio One yanked Detroit's longtime queen of political radio, Mildred Gaddis, out of her WCHB-AM 1200 morning slot into the afternoon shift in February, it seemed counter-intuitive, almost a demotion. Surely the governors, county executives and assorted politicos who appeared on Gaddis' show, and the feisty locals who called in to argue were more on their game in the morning?

MASON & COCO IN THE MORNING, PM drive DR. DARRIUS and middayer RADIO MYLES will broadcast at various times while combined staffs will collect needed items to help the homeless and less fortunate in METRO DETROIT area shelters.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

KDKA's Kimberly Gill is moving on. Ms. Gill, who arrived in Pittsburgh three years ago after a stint with WEWS in Cleveland, anchors her last Pittsburgh newscast Nov. 7. She is headed to WDIV-TV, the NBC affiliate in Detroit, to be a reporter and fill-in anchor.
