Former Christian radio host John Balyo asked a judge for some hope of rejoining society at his sentencing for a sexual attack on a young boy. He has that possibility - after at least 40 years in prison. Balyo, the former morning host at WCSG, said he did not recognize the "depravity" of his actions until he was caught.

- In the late 1960's, Tom Graye was a student at Plymouth-Salem High School- even before they had their own radio station, WSDP. He worked at WPAG (now WTKA) and also at WAAM, both in Ann Arbor, when it was playing the hits in the early 1970's. In the 1980's he was at the Top of the Rock 89 WLS in Chicago. He's been at great stations in Pittsburgh, Louisville, Minneapolis, Washington, DC and Detroit at the one-time Stereo Island 100.3, WKNR-FM.
He was just awarded for ten outstanding years with the Catholic Radio-TV Network EWTN. His voice can be heard locally on WDEO AM 990 from Ypsilanti.
- The FCC has stepped up its crackdown on the airing of Emergency Alert System tones when there is no emergency. News/Talk WTRC-FM 95.3 Niles will be paying a $46,000 civil penalty for airing an ad that included the EAS tones. The whistleblower in this case? The National Weather Service.
Charlie Langton has been promoted to weekend morning anchor for Fox-owned WJBK Detroit (DMA 12). Langton will continue to co-host the public affairs show Let It Rip that airs Thursday nights and Sunday mornings, as well as report and provide legal analysis on various weekday newscasts.
