It's been a tough month for TV and radio icons here in The D. Earlier in the month, the most famous anchorman in Detroit history, Bill Bonds, passed away. And then over the weekend, Bill Burton, head of the Detroit Radio Advertiser Group (DRAG) and former chief of the rep firm Eastman Radio left us. If you could retire someone's number in radio, no one would ever wear Bill's jersey again.

- Northern Broadcast Inc, which owns/operates 6 radio stations in Northwest Lower Michigan, has named Kristal Flateau as the cluster's General Manager where she will oversee Rock combo 'KLT' (97.5 and 98.9 FM), Classic Hits 'Music Radio the Fox' (92.5 and 94.3 FM) and Sports 'ESPN Radio Northern Michigan' (105.5 and 106.7 FM). Flateau has been with the group for 19 years in various roles.
Simultaneously, NBI announced that Matthew Turek has been elevated to the role of General Sales Manager. He started with the group in 2003.
