Michigan Assn of Broadcasters helping to provide Inauguration coverage on New Years Day

The Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB) and Michigan Association of Public Broadcasters (MAPB) will sponsor the broadcast of the 2015 inauguration of Governor Rick Snyder to his second term in office on January 1, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 1:00 p.m.

Other elected state officials will also be sworn into office during this time period. The program will be offered in high definition and will be streamed live on the web. It will be available on television and radio stations across the state, streamed on their websites and available on their digital sub-stations. There is at least one commercial television and/or radio station, along with public radio and television, carrying the inauguration in every market throughout Michigan.

MAB will provide a hosted feed for the full hour with former broadcaster and CEO of, Chris Holman, and, returning for a second year as co-host is Kelly Rossman-McKinney of Truscott Rossman, a Lansing-based public relations firm. Kelly and Chris will keep the program going and add tidbits of information for those watching and listening at home.

MAB and MAPB wish to thank WKAR Public Media for producing and directing the television program and for providing the video stream, technology and staff to bring the inauguration to all commercial and public broadcasters. Thank you also to MessageMakers for their assistance.

Audio will be provided to Michigan radio stations by Michigan News Network and Michigan Radio Network.

Broadcasters have expanded their reach to include popular websites, streaming, texting and social media, all while offering the in-depth audio and video information formats on which the audience depends.

"The broadcast of this event demonstrates the cooperative spirit that Governor Snyder says it will take to solve the problems we face as a state," says Karole White, MAB President/CEO. "Broadcasters have set aside competition and affiliations to bring the inauguration to citizens. If we can do it, then any group should be able to work together to find solutions to some of the state's most pressing issues."
