FOX 17 expands its daily news broadcasts with today's launch of "FOX 17 Midday." Mike Avery and Deanna Falzone anchor the new, one-hour show that opened at 11 a.m. today with an update on the brutally cold weather that struck West Michigan overnight.

"Downton Abbey" fans have been waiting eagerly for months for the debut of its fifth season on PBS-TV. But WGVU-TV viewers in West Michigan were left high and dry when the 70-minute episode was cut short on Channel 35 in Grand Rapids and Channel 52 in Kalamazoo.

You know those questions you hear interviewers ask, the ones that seem to go on for five minutes, repeating themselves and twisting around and stopping and backtracking and finally pretty much answering themselves before the subject of the interview ever has a chance to take a whack at it? In the past few years, outgoing U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers has become a fixture on Sunday morning political shows such as "Face the Nation" and "Meet the Press," talking about national security and foreign affairs. Now after 14 years in Congress, the Howell Republican and departing Intelligence Committee chairman is leaving elected office for an audience of his own: a nationally syndicated radio show that will likely have a larger daily audience than his current congressional district.
