Grand Rapids Press:

WOOD TV 8 veteran reporter Steve Kelso, a familiar face and voice on West Michigan's NBC affiliate, is leaving the station after 15 years. Kelso, in fact, turned in his notice on his 15th anniversary on Friday.

Radio DJs seldom know when it's their last day behind the mic. Even the most popular personality in town could have the plug pulled at any time and for no reason. In the broadcasting industry, this guillotine method of firing staff is standard operating procedure. It sounds harsh, but it makes sense.

Detroit News:

Detroit City Council member George Cushingberry Jr. has decreed that he will no longer speak to Fox 2 reporter M.L. Elrick. Cushingberry never spoke to Elrick before, Elrick says, except once through a closed door.
