Countless tributes have been written and recorded today honoring the life and work of Detroit native Casey Kasem following his death at the age of 82. Some of those from Michigan-based media include:

There have also been countless tributes and stories published on most radio and television trade web sites in addition to nearly all of mainstream media outlets - both local and national. Social media reacted immediately to the news with Twitter and Facebook exploding with memories and well-wishes to Casey's family and friends.

Mr. Kasem's work in the media touched nearly anyone that turned on a radio or television from the 1970s through today in some form or another. From listening to American Top 40 and the many imitators since AT40's 1970 launch to just enjoying a Scooby Doo cartoon, Casey entertained us all. His death leaves a void that will never be filled.
