Notes/History:

  • 12/2009: Construction permit granted to increase power from 200 watts @ 177 feet to 3,000 watts @ 167 and change to a directional pattern. The most signal improvement will be in areas around Dexter, Saline, and Ypsilanti.
  • 1977: Moved to 88.3, power later to 200 watts.
  • 1974: Began broacasting through summer months.
  • 1/23/1972: WCBN is licensed by FCC at 89.5 FM, 10 watts. Carrier current operations continue, but as WRCN.
  • 1965: Operations of WCBN are brought together in one location, the new Student Activities Building, for the first time.
  • 1952: Carrier current station on 650 AM is created by combining what had been three different carrier current operations.
