- 3/2011: Announced that Heartland Communications is selling its trio of Houghton radio stations (classic hits WOLV-FM 97.7, country WHKB-FM 102.3, and standards WCCY AM 1400) for $535,000 to Houghton Community Broadcasting. Stephen Marks is listed as the sole stockholder, officer, and director of Houghton Community Broadcasting; he also owns ABC/CW affiliates WBUP-TV 10 Ishpeming/WBKP-TV 5 Calumet (as Lake Superior Community Broadcasting) and CBS affiliate WBKB-TV 11 Alpena (as Thunder Bay Broadcasting) in Michigan in addition to a number of radio and TV stations in Montana, North Dakota, and Virginia. FCC approves sale in April and it closes in June, 2011.

- 8/25/2004: Tu-Mar Broadcasting agrees to sell WOLV-FM 97.7, WHKB-FM 102.3, and WCCY-AM 1400 Houghton to Heartland Communications in a stock sale valued at $1,627,000 pending FCC approval.
