- 2/2011: Construction permit granted to move to AM 1440, increase daytime power to 2,700 watts and nighttime power to 24 watts. Both daytime and nightime operations would be omnidirectional; the station currently uses a 2-tower array on AM 1420 with 1,000 watts daytime. License to cover granted in 12/2011.
- 11/2010: Kalamazoo Broadcasting is paying $80,000 to Langford Broadcasting, owner of WDOW AM 1440 Dowagiac, as part of an agreement that would take WDOW off the air permanently and have WKPR move to AM 1440 and increase power from 1,000 to 2,700 watts during daytime hours.
