- 198x: Religious programming is removed from WLQV-AM 1500 in favor of duplicating WCZY-FM as a marketing ploy to 'bring Dick Purtan back to AM'. Calls of AM station are changed to WCZY. After a few months, WLQV and religious programming are back on AM.
- 1984: Dick Purtan leaves CKLW for the morning spot on WCZY 95.5
- Mid 1980's: Soft AC format gradually evolves into Top 40
- 1980: 'Cosy 95' with new call sign WCZY, Soft Adult Contemporary format
- 6/1979: Combined Communications purchases station. Combined Communications later becomes Gannett.
- 19xx: Format is Beautiful Music / "Muzak"
- 19xx: Owner is Lincoln Broadcasting
- 2/12/1949: Station is on the air as WLDM
